my essay: Pollution has become a major issue over these years in Toronto. It caused many deaths, diseases, and many health problems. Even though the pollution had been a major concern of the city today, but not much is being done to prevent it. Our health can be really at risk if we breathe in harmful gases and chemicals that are released into the air by cars and factories. Other than that, we still have many issues to deal with pollution, since there are many different types of it.
One of the types of pollution is air pollution. Air pollution is not a new topic. It is problem that we have noticed since the industrial revolution. Air pollution is actually harmful substances in the pollution. Air pollution can also occurs inside homes, schools, offices even in the countryside of Toronto. As a result there has been an increase in the death rates resulting from different diseases caused by air pollution, varying from breathing problem to lung cancer. In Toronto, we always come across indoors with air pollution, when people have been smoking and outdoors where motor vehicle pollutes the air. The average person takes about twenty thousand breaths each day, because obviously, air is essential to life, which is important to keep the air clean.
The second major type of pollution in Toronto is the water pollution. It causes so much damage to people and animals that live around or in the body of water. The water pollution that occurs is very hard to clean up and things may never be the same as it was, because to clean up something takes a lot of hours and a lot of man power to get this mess taken care of. Water pollution can also cause some animals to be endangered. In Toronto, the biggest source of water pollution is industries, who are releasing hazardous waste into our water resources. In the lakes around Toronto, the fresh water is at risk due the effects in climate change and pollution. It concludes that we must value our fresh water and take immediate action to protect it.
The land pollution is another pollution that occurs in Toronto. It contaminates the land surface of the city through dumping wastes and littering. Land pollution also includes destroying soil that gets polluted by the chemicals in pesticides used for agricultural purposes along with waste matter being littered in Toronto.
